Deborah Bowness - Wallpaper Queen
We talk to Deborah about her long established wallpaper and print making practice run from ‘The Print Room’ currently based in East Sussex. Here she makes bespoke, hand printed wallpapers crafted combining traditional silk screen and digital printing techniques. Her practice challenges preconceived notions of decorating moving surface decoration away from superficial pattern and embellishment. Using mis-registered photomontage images of everyday household objects she reintroduces the familiar, ordinary and overlooked.

Katie Clement

Alongside this she designs her own collection of greetings cards and art prints based on her original illustrations. Her illustrations are well-known for their bold combination of detailed monochrome drawings with a striking colour pop, which are intended to evoke memories and bring their recipients joy.
